How to write a great profile

  1. A picture tells a thousand words
    1. Post great quality photographs that when enlarged look great and not grainy.
    2. Make sure you have recent photographs that accurately represent what you look like today.
    3. Make sure you have a great "face shot". A great face shot will most likely be the first thing that attracts others to you when they are searching the site.
    4. If necessary, have a friend with a good digital camera take some photographs of you in different poses, different attire, doing different things.
    5. You may post up to (7) seven photos on your profile. Try to include photos that represent your lifestyle. If you are an avid skier, love the outdoors, love pets, etc. then try to include photos that provide a good representation of your life.
  2. Interests
    1. Take time to list your favorite interests, If you love to read, go to movies, or you enjoy in-line skating, cooking, shopping, socializing with friends and family, list them all. The more interests you list, the more interesting you become.
    2. Make your interest section unique by elaborating on certain interests. Instead of saying, "I love to travel" say something like, "I enjoy traveling as it brings out the adventurous side in me. One of my passions is to discover new places and learn about different cultures." Or, instead of, "I like to play tennis", say something like "I am a tennis enthusiast and play at a competitive level and plan to go to the U.S. Open this year in New York." Spice it up; make yourself stand out from the crowd.
  3. About Me
    1. Talk about yourself and provide a good honest description of who you are and what your life is like. An example may be, "I am a single woman, have never been married and have no children. I have a B.A. in business and currently have a great job with an advertising agency. I am a very caring and sensitive individual. I love kids and dogs and would some day like to have a family of my own."
    2. Highlight your strengths and don't talk about any negatives or weaknesses.
    3. Talk about the types of qualities you are looking for in a relationship. This will help the reader determine if they have the type of characteristics you are looking for in another person. Be specific, not vague. Instead of saying "I am looking for a single man", you may want to be more specific such as "I am looking for a single man between the ages of 25 and 30 that has never been married and has no children. I am looking for a man that has a great work ethic and great ambition. This man should also love children and have a strong desire to raise a family some day."
    4. Just about everyone loves a bit of good clean humor, so you may want to consider throwing a bit of humor in as well.

  1. Post great quality, recent photographs that reflect your lifestyle
  2. List many of your interests and be descriptive and colorful
  3. Be truthful when talking about yourself
  4. Be very clear regarding the type of individual you are seeking and the characteristics you are looking for in that person
